RAMADAN SECRETS

An Islamic Outreach ABIM eBook Project.

RAMADAN SECRETS comprises short essays, notes and anecdotes celebrating the much-awaited blessed month of Ramadan and the significance of commemorating the revelations of the Holy Qur’an.

It was in the month of Ramadan that the Qur’an was revealed as guidance for mankind, clear messages giving guidance and distinguishing between right and wrong. So, any one of you who is present that month should fast, and anyone who is ill or on a journey should make up for the lost days by fasting on other days later. (Al Baqarah: 185)

Guidance for Converts

The deaf using sign language to grasp the meaning of verses of Surah al Fatihah

Al-Fātiḥah is the first chapter of the Quran. Its seven verses are a prayer for the guidance, lordship and mercy of Allah. This chapter has an essential role in Islamic prayer. Surah Al Al-Fātiḥah is condensed form of all the fundamental principles laid down in the Qu’ran.

The principle of God’s oneness and uniqueness, Allah is the originator and fosterer of the universe, the fount of all life-giving grace, the only One to whom man is ultimately responsible, the only power that can guide and help;

The call to righteous action in the life of this world; the principle of life after death and consequences of man’s actions and behaviour;

The principle of guidance through God’s message bearers, the principle of continuity of true religion implied and alluded in the people who lived, who succeeded or erred;

The need for voluntary self surrender to the Will of the Supreme Lord and to worship Allah alone.
